As we reach the finish line of The Adventurous Lives of Lisbon Statues, Isabel Brison and Nuno Rodrigues de Sousa present a conference about their research project concerning the monument that memorializes the 25th of April Revolution, built by the SOREFAME company workers and placed in the Praça das Águas Livres in Damaia in 1985, and then removed some years later. Apart from the question of the authorship of the monument (a collective of workers and not, as is usual, an artist), the research questions the importance of voluntary work in the construction of public spaces in the city of Amadora during the 1980’s and in the (short) history of this specific piece.
