After a period of construction, TBA would reopen on January 15th. However, following the most recent measures to contain the Covid-19 virus pandemic announced by the Government and the European worsening of the pandemic situation, we will have to reschedule and cancel some of the events already disclosed. Thus, the workshop The libido of capital (and ours) by Amador Savater scheduled for February 2 to 4, 2021 will be canceled. This event will be rescheduled at a future date as soon as possible.
In 1974, in an impossible, delirious and brilliant book, French philosopher Jean-François Lyotard proposed thinking about capitalism as a “libidinal economy”. In other words, submitted to the same principles that rule unconscious impulses and desire. The proposition of this workshop is to think about capitalism as a libidinal economy with the help of Lyotard’s conceptual tools, which you do not need to be familiar with in order to follow, and imagine adequate forms of resistance, sabotage and interruption.
