The viewer sits in the theatre. Or the movie theatre. Eager for the unfolding of a narrative, to reach that legendary sense of catharsis. If you are a young woman sitting in the dark of the movie theatre or the auditorium, year after year, what sense of womanhood was reflected in that mirror? What were you really being told all this time?
