It was scheduled for March of last year and for January of this year, but we will have to wait until July to see Our Town by Thornton Wilder staged by Auéééu, Os Possessos and Teatro da Cidade. In the meantime, we can talk about the book, published in the Livrinhos de Teatro, a collection funded by Artistas Unidos, now in partnership with a Snob (and, for this volume, with TBA). Our Town (premiered in 1938) is a paradoxical text: hard and sentimental, everyday and cosmic; a recurring classic in American high schools and, at the same time, a major example of experimental dramaturgy; it is the most specific of the pieces (it takes place in a small town in New England in the early twentieth century) and the most universal (the great themes: life, love and death).

Talking to anyone who wants to join Zoom will be Jorge Silva Melo (who edited), Catarina Rôlo Salgueiro (who translated, with João Pedro Mamede), Leonor Buescu (one of the creators / interpreters) and Francisco Frazão (who will moderate). It will certainly also be an opportunity to talk about the construction of the postponed show and the indispensable Livrinhos de Teatro.
