This session of Práticas de Leitura comes from an invitation to the journalist, literary critic, novelist and researcher Raquel Ribeiro to guide a collective reading of the essay “The Family: Love it or Leave it” published in 1979 by the feminist music critic and essayist Ellen Willis in The Village Voice. The desire to read and go deeper into this text and, with it, the writing of Willis was formed during the Mark Fisher cycle, a reader of Willis. This collective reading thus constitutes an opportunity to talk about love, family and the organization of life (and of society), but also about forms of feminist writing.
