In the next session of Reading Practices, Maria Sequeira Mendes, Marisa Falcón and Marta Cordeiro talk to us about O Desensino das Artes (The Unteaching of the Arts), a book in which they propose a different teaching model for the arts. “We know that an art school that does not rethink itself, does not improvise, does not invite different people to talk to its students, that maintains a structure directed towards the past without seeking to imagine the present, will always be a school that is lacking. Our hope is that this book, which proposes a teaching model, helps to vindicate the possibility of an “Ideal School.”
