An illustrious composer, percurssionist and poet, Doug Hammond is a discreet figure, rarely cited, but owner of an enviable journey into exploratory music from the second half of the 20^th Century. Throughout more than 60 years he traced a remarkable path in which he accomplished, like few others, the intersection between the complexity of rhythmic forms and angular harmonies with the genius/effortlessness of writing simple and captivating songs. Now at the age of 79, Doug Hammond presents his solo GRIOT at the TBA, an unmissable opportunity to witness the multiple facets of this abiding/persistent storyteller.
