nora chipaumire debuts in Lisbon with a workshop and the presentation of two pieces that honor two radical artists who marked her youth in Zimbabwe, Patti Smith and Grace Jones. These pieces are interpreted as a duet, where voices, music and dance are mixed in a total performance, in a staging that refuses any form of artifice. For nora, the human body can be a vehicle for the manifestation of self-invention and self-determination of all those born without property, name or class.
