The decolonisation of the lands occupied during the Portuguese colonisation was completed just over 40 years ago, after the end of the Colonial Wars, as they were known in Portugal, or the Wars of Liberation, as they were known in the former colonies. However, the thought and behaviour patterns that had fuelled the colonial war and the relationships of inequality and exploitation that characterised it, did not disappear by decree. It is these two liberations (the one that happened and the one that is yet to come) that this brief cycle will examine.
